DRAMA & MUSICAL THEATRE MAJOR

DRAMA & MUSICAL THEATRE MAJOR

  • A monologue of approximately 3 minutes. The candidate should have a knowledge of the playwright and the monologue in context.​
  • Perform two songs of your own choice in contrasting styles. One song must display movement.
  • Songs must be performed using a backing track. All backing tracks need to be accessible via bluetooth.
  • For in-person auditions, a short combination will be taught in order to assess your dance level. For digital auditions, candidates should prepare a 1 minute movement sequence.
  • All candidates must be dressed appropriately in clothing that allows them to move freely.
  • A handwritten opinion essay on a subject related to the Major you are applying for.

DANCE MAJOR

  • You will be required to perform two dances of contrasting styles at your highest level of training.
  • All audition candidates must be dressed appropriately in clothing that is relevant to the dance genre.
  • All candidates will be required to perform a song of their own choice, which may be unaccompanied, or with a backing track. All backing tracks need to be accessible via bluetooth.

  • Admission into the Full-Time course is by audition only. All Majors are a dedicated 4-year course. There is a R500 audition fee, payable prior to your chosen audition date.
